Yes! From @brookefischerart: “The funny thing is that as I was working on this artwork, I kept thinking over and over I wonder if Greta would even like this? It kind of goes against her whole message. Her message is about not sugar coating the darkness and harsh reality we humans face in terms of climate change. She wants us to be terrified into action. And I love the strength of her message. We both believe that humans are in for a rude awakening if we do not take action now. We can all help the planet now. We can change the little things we do in our daily lives. We can have a huge impact on climate in spite of lack of support from our governments. Our purchase power should not be underestimated. We can change our course. We can make a difference. We have these choices every day as Greta says “You’re never to small to make a difference.” But this piece is about how I see her. I see her as ray of light and hope in a dark time for the planet and all life on earth. I see her as a protector of the earth and all living things great and small. She has earned her global platform and she is using it well. I see her as a super hero who’s super power is saving the planet from destroying humanity. She galvanized millions of people into action. On Friday March 15, 2019 1.4 million people took part in the school strikes for climate action a protest inspired by her. As she said in her infamous UN speech the real power belongs with the people. Thank you for calling out our government for not being mature enough to tell it like it is and that our civilization is be sacrificed for the opportunity of a very small number of people to continue making enormous amounts of money. Happy Earth Day! Today is also @Dolphin_Project’s 49th anniversary I have long admired @RichardOBarry’s humble and dedicated approach to ending the exploitation of dolphins in captivity and in the drive hunts of Taiji, Japan. After volunteering for Dolphin Project last year, my passion for this cause has become stronger than ever. I’ve never considered myself an “activist” although some may place that label on me, I just didn’t feel comfortable as an “inactivist.” Through peaceful education and outreach, I believe we can bring about a future where no more dolphins are whales are exploited in captivity and their natural habitat is a clean and healthy one. The most lasting change comes from working with people, not against them. ・ P.S.
