Guess who quit her full time-well paying-amazing schedule job? ‍♀️ I’m sure some people think I’m crazy for doing it but I needed a break. A break for self care, mental clarity, enjoying life and truly pursuing the things that I’ve always dreamed of. I’ve never been driven by money, but God and pursuing peace and a life full of joy. You all know that my oldest has special needs and that alone isn’t easy on me so when I felt the push to take a break, I listened. . We don’t often listen to our bodies because we’re always on the go or feel pressured to keep performing. I made a decision to truly “live” this year and I intend to do just that. I’ll be back to work (maybe part time) by the end of summer but these next few months are for trying new things, some travel, enjoying the fam, a lot of laughs, more minimalist pursuits and bombarding your instagram feed

Isaiah is switching schools and starts one that is kind of far from where we live today and there’s already some concerns we have regarding the transition. Plus, I’m back to work after being off for 2 weeks and I have jury duty in 2 days ‍♀️ I already want this week to be over already. . This is why I take advantage of the moments when we can have date nights and this past weekend we found a way to have 3 date nights and really enjoyed ourselves as you could see from our stories. Autism Awareness Day 11: Stimming & Staring The term "stimming" is short for self-stimulatory behavior and is sometimes also called "stereotypic" behavior. In a person with autism, stimming usually refers to specific behaviors that include hand- flapping, rocking, spinning, or repetition of words and phrases. We say Michael gets "flappy when he's happy" but these movements also cause a lot of weird looks & stares. As children with autism grow up, the things that were once "cute" as a child, are now a lot more noticeable and awkward for a teenager. Be aware if you stare & don't mumble under your breath. Our child is expressing himself in a different way and that's ok.
