A sweet baby girl quilt was top of my list today. I am in love with #cottonandsteel #amalfi fabric line! I used @trish.poolson modabakeshop pattern #scrappyirishchain. I used it a couple of years ago. It’s a snap to put together and I love how it turns out. I used the same piece for all of the big squares. I wasn’t sure if that would look good but I think it’s okay. The nine patches are from the stash. I’ve had this quilt done for over a week but dry weather was hard to come by...here’s my completed #halfpintquilt by @modernlymorgan!! The front used Kona White, Bellini, Mushroom, Fog, & Delft, binding is Punch, and the backing is the Ikea duvet I shared earlier. This top came together SO quickly (definitely a 1 day project), and quilting was super fast too with the rectangular grid. This pattern releases on the 24th and I highly recommend it - it’ll be my go to baby girl quilt from here on out!!

Today has been exceptionally good. 1️⃣Started the day out with an ultrasound at the hospital... I was able to see our baby girl and hear the good news that I don’t have placenta previa afterall. 2️⃣Celebrated with a Costa Vida salad + chips and queso! (Duh!) 3️⃣My almost three year old is taking a longer nap than usual. 4️⃣ Although my house could use some picking up (maybe I should dock a point there ), my 30 weeks belly insists that I must sit on the couch and stitch my binding on while watching tv and eating chocolate instead. Poor little quilt. First, she sat basted for months before I realized I didn’t want to finish because the backing was wrong. (Went from leopard print to a bright floral). Then, she shifted on me during quilting so much that the selvedge was visible on the back. (Trimmed down the outside borders). I didn’t bother to lay out my binding before I started sewing so one of the joins is right in the corner. (It’s a little bunched up but ok). Then, horror of horrors, I found the brightest little orange thread visible through the white sashing. (Ain’t nothin I can do about that now)! So, she’s really flawed but still pretty darn cute. (Also the title of my memoir). I’m not going to list her on Etsy where her quirks might not be totally appreciated.
