I woke up this morning with the worst abdominal pain and uncontrollable bloat. Mother Nature paid her monthly visit and of course it comes with some highly unpleasant symptoms ♀️ the glory of being a woman! Even though I could have written a book with all the excuses I came up with this morning to skip the gym, I didn’t. I showed up, powered through, and did the damn thing. And yes, I was still bloated. This is just a reminder that everything you see on Instagram is not always what it seems. I’m bloated af & I don’t care who knows it
How many of you have been personally victimized by good ‘old fashioned water retention? I’m sure we all have at one point or another.
I’ve talked with a few clients this week about it, so I wanted to touch on it with you guys too! There are many reasons why your body could be retaining water, but a few common ones are:
You ate too much sodium.
You didn’t drink enough water.
You had a hard workout.
All of these things cause our body to become dehydrated which in turn makes our body hold onto more of the water we have in us. I know it sounds a little backwards, but it is our body’s way of preventing us from becoming too dehydrated.
Water retention can cause quite a bit of an increase in the scale which freaks many people out. If you’re noticing this, I would take a look at that factors above to see if one of them might be the reason your body is holding onto more water than normal.
