I don’t know if other people have this, but I am constantly hyper aware of the colour yellow. It is not a colour I can really wear as it makes me look like I’ve been 3 days dead in a ditch somewhere. So finally, I realized (as spring is happening) that I need my own pair of mittens! And because they won’t go near my face, they can be yellow! I can indulge in some Grellow selbu!!!

I've been busy making up new dye test swatches lately and it's been a bit of a rollercoaster experience. Since all my previous dyes were tested in Edinburgh where the water was softer, I've had to retest them all in the much harder and slightly alkaline waters here in East Anglia.... I've had some things not work, and I've had some things work differently, both for better and for worse. I've also trialed out using some more new mordants: soya milk and symplocos leaf from the Bebali foundation.
