Stewed tomato chickpea curry with rice and avocado by @cookingforpeanuts Recipe: ⠀ Sauté 1 small yellow onion (small dice) until soft and starts to brown, about 5 minutes. Add 2 minced garlic cloves, 1 tsp ground cumin, 1 tsp coriander, 1 tsp sweet paprika, 1/2 tsp red chili flakes. Sauté another 30 seconds before adding 1 tbsp tomato paste. Mix well while heating for another minute. Add 1-15oz can stewed tomatoes. Simmer about 10-15 minutes, adding broth or water if gets too dry. Blend sauce until mostly smooth with a few chunks remaining. Return to stove. Stir in 2 cups cooked chickpeas. Add coconut milk gradually from 1-15oz can until desired creaminess is reached. (Don’t need to use all of it.) Cook until heated through. Salt/pepper to taste. Enjoy! #veganfoodspace #vegandinner #dinnerideas

The power of switching to more whole foods + less processed foods *Swipe to see 3 more examples! ⠀ Here are some powerful examples of how not only switching to more whole foods will help your waist line but it will also help your overall health. ⠀ Don’t just take my word for it though. In this feb 2019 randomized controlled trial, ultra-processed diets caused excess calorie intake which in turn led to weight gain unlike the unprocessed food diet. ⠀ Another feb 2019 study published in the journal of the American medical association linked an increase in consumption of ultraprocessed foods w with a higher risk of all-cause mortality. (About a 14% high risk of all-cause mortality for every 10% increase in processed foods). ⠀ A 2014 study by Public Health Nutrition found that people who cook at home 6-7 nights a week compared to those who eat out often, save on average 150 calories per day - that’s 1,050 calories a week! Not to mention the hydrogenated oils, fillers & added sodium you avoid by cooking your own food. ⠀ ♥️ It’s not about being perfect! If most of your diet comes from whole foods and trusted brands that have minimally processed ingredients, there will still be room for fun foods when the occasion strikes or if you want a tasty treat. ⠀ If you’re not sure how to get started, here are some of my tips to start switching to a more unprocessed diet: (1) stop drinking your calories (aside from low sugar kombuchas & high quality protein shakes) (2) make a habit of grocery shopping every week (3) start a meal prep routine (4) cook more dinners at home (5) try remaking some of you favorite desserts from scratch in the kitchen with healthier ingredients (6) read food labels and make sure you can understand what’s even in the minimally processed foods you choose. Bergfest Es ist wieder soweit und nach dem heutigen Arbeitstag, ist die Hälfte der Woche dann auch schon wieder geschafft . Da ich heute erst später das arbeiten anfangen werde, gönne ich mir seit längerem mal wieder einen warmen #porridge zum #frühstück Bestehend aus: 80g Haferflocken 30g Whey 5g Maca vermischen und in 350ml Wasser aufkochen. Währenddessen immer gut rühren, 50g Magerquark hinzufügen und weiter rühren, bis eine cremige Konsistenz entsteht. Von der Herdplatte nehmen. Ich habe noch 1 TL Guarana und 1 TL Baobab @mygreenz_ untergerührt, etwas mit Flavdrops gesüßt, in einen tiefen Teller gegeben und mit 20g Dinkelcrunchy, 1 Banane, 10g Mandeln und 1 TL Ersnussmus getoppt . Die ganze Portion hat ca. 740kcal So kann man doch nur super in den Tag starten! A healthy vegan Mac n' Cheese recipe to take you back to simpler times by @rainbowplantlife  Did you love Mac n' Cheese as a kid too? Here's what you'll need - check out her page for the full recipe! 1 very small sugar pumpkin or 1 small butternut squash (about 2 1/2 pounds or 1 kg) 1/2 cup (40g) nutritional yeast 1 teaspoon dry mustard powder (optional but adds a nice sharp tangy flavor) 1 teaspoon garlic powder  1/2 teaspoon onion powder 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1 ½ teaspoons kosher salt + more to taste 1 tablespoon mellow white or yellow miso paste  1 tablespoon tapioca flour or cornstarch  2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice 1/2 cup (~60g) raw cashews, soaked for 8 hours or overnight 1 cup (240mL) canned “lite” coconut milk 10 ounces (280g) of rigatoni pasta, medium-sized macaroni shells, or pasta of your choice

In separate bowl, stir nut butter, eggs, maple syrup (or honey), and pumpkin. Slowly stir in almond milk. Add dry ingredients to wet, stir until well combined, then let batter sit for a couple minutes. Cook up your cakes! (Makes 1-2 servings).

The reality about weight loss - Weight loss is not a constant, linear thing. In fact, your weight can fluctuate every single day. Unfortunately, this discourages people. People make weight loss and fat loss synonymous, but they aren't. You can lose fat in a somewhat linear way even if your weight fluctuates because "weight" encompasses a million things: water retention, muscle mass, food matter, fecal matter, hydration levels and even hormone balance. Don't get discouraged if your weight is the going down linearly, that does not mean you aren't progressing.
