Bird’s Eye of the “Toau” atoll in French Polynesia. On the left you can see the “Lagoon” side, which is protected from the ocean swells and currents. Atolls used to be volcanos many many years ago, and slowly eroded into rings of land in the middle of the ocean. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The drone was flying at 500mts (1600ft) when I took these, so you can get an idea of the size of these islands. Long exposure drone shot Yep! I had wanted to try a slightly long exposure with the drone for a while, and finally had the chance in Ireland. This vantage was not possible with a normal camera so I had to use the drone, but I still wanted the water to be blurred. I experimented with exposure times and finally found the perfect length for both water blur and sharpness. I was planning on needing one shot for water blur and one for perfectly sharp mountains, but I only need one exposure.
