This went down out front yesterday for the @100yearsofsurf gathering. A pumping swell in the bay, a day most would say ‘too big’ for the Berg, big enough for even Kalk Bay to be well overhead. 300+ gathered on the beach in an all-inclusive circle, and so many (150) went for it in the paddle, little kids on foam boards, ballies on paipos, hipsters on hyptos, way way out to double overhead + Muizies! Beach Update: Sun is shining, winds are light. Swell is in the overhead range but should be dropping fast with the extra low tide. Wind is forecast to light Berg winds and will be cleaning up the swell through the morning, already cleaner than sunrise. Estimate the backline circle will be 100m out, dont forget your leash! .
