Never thought I'd enjoy a Craigellachie as much as I enjoyed this one! . Craigellachie Double Casked Limited Edition 1994/2016 aged in Oloroso Sherry casks . Nose: Maraschino cherries, golden raisins, sweet filter coffee. Complex, generous, lovely syrupy sweetness that has a sense of being very gentle . Palate: An explosion of complexity!! Sweet sulphur, maraschino cherries, hint of salty dried fruits. Sweet rancio, but not to the point of being leather-like. Rich and very enjoyable! . Finish: Lingering, tingly and sweet. Sweet lychee in syrup, salty dried fruits, really good! . Strong on all fronts, this really is a whisky that keeps on giving! The sulphur is a welcome anchor to balance out the bouquet of exotic flavours! Really goes to show that Oloroso sherries are the only type of sherry casks we should age whiskies in .
