L is for Loneliness. Day 12/36. . @36daysoftype @adobe @adobedesigners . . After a few months of not seeing each other, you'll obviously feel lonely. What we do to fight through this is carry out activities we generally do together but in the distance so that we can feel closer: having pillow talk, playing syllacrostics, having a call while one of us goes for a walk somewhere we'd normally go for a walk together, etc. Also make sure to have a group of supportive friends who'll help you fence off insecurity and everything negative that comes hand in hand with feeling lonely. Having something specific planned to look forward to like a trip together or an event you'll both attend next time you're together really helps. A great example that comes to mind that helped us feel really close is what my bf did for me to help me grow in my career. I was selected to be in an art exhibit in NYC for the first time last year in June but I wasn't in the city at the time. So my bf attended it for me and set it all up by himself. This meant the world to me—more than I can express with words and it was one of the most genuine acts of love I've ever gotten in my life. We also felt really close to each other during those weeks while preparing the exhibit material because I was remotely organizing what was needed and he picked it up while we were on voice calls: canvas prints, business cards, flyers, clips, lights, etc. I will never forget this. We had a video call during the event so that I could be also present somehow. He even went and set up a second exhibit for me a week after. Fortunately, I was present for the 3rd one and he was there by my side. I can't stress enough how supportive he is with me and my art. . . Going back to fending off loneliness, I have found that I'm extra productive when we are apart—I guess it's because I subconsciously must know that I need to keep myself busy in order for bad feelings to stay away. You should look for your passion because ultimately it is what will help you keep your mind off the thought of being apart.
