603 Writer's Spotlight! Kathleen Mills is a young writer, composer, teacher, and performer based in Toronto. She is currently attending Sheridan College's Bachelor of Music Theatre Performance program. Kathleen has arranged and conducted for choir, as well as written short plays for schools. Through her writing, Kathleen hopes to be able to create pieces that promote and provide material that supports a future in Musical Theatre that is radically accepting and equally accessible to all. 603 Writer's Spotlight! This member in addition to being one of our amazing writers participating in our musical theatre writing May intensive workshop is also one of the individuals running 603!: Yonah Sienna is a writer, composer, performer, teacher, and arts facilitator. Previously, Yonah founded and directed Harmonia, the youth choir at the Miles Nadal JCC in Toronto, Ontario, and founded and co-led the Unconscious Collective Vocal Ensemble, an experimental a cappella choir based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. While leading these choirs, Yonah also wrote original arrangements spanning contemporary indie rock, Jewish religious music, and ancient Greek hymns, along with original settings of famous poetry. This past year, Yonah has taken Introduction to Composition at the evening division of the Juilliard School in New York, and Playwriting I, a 10-week public workshop at the National Theatre School of Canada. Currently, Yonah is General Manager of 603 New Musicals and a performer for Pirate Life Toronto. Here's one of our other stellar writers participating in our musical theatre writing May intensive workshop: Shreya Jha is a composer, lyricist, and bookwriter from Toronto currently studying music composition and neuroscience at the University of Toronto. She is an active music director and writer in her university’s campus theatre program. Here's yet another one of our amazing writers participating in our musical theatre writing May intensive workshop: Claudia is a writer, director, and actress who hails from Connecticut. She is currently the only American participant at 603! Currently, she is pursuing majors of Theatre and Creative Writing at university, with minors in Women and Gender Studies and Musical Theatre. Claudia’s scene work was featured last December in her university’s Christmas show, and she looks forward to more of her writing coming to life on the stage.
