This weekend we went away for some relaxing, outdoors time which was absolutely fantastic and MUCH needed. But when we got back on Monday, our area got hit with some crazy weather. . We are up to I think 15 confirmed tornados that went through our area on Memorial Day. Thankfully, Kaitlyn & I, and our home made it without damage. Lots and lots of people can’t say the same for their homes and properties. There are neighborhoods and businesses that are absolutely devastated. . I had the privilege to go into one of the hardest hit areas today and do a (very small) part to help. It is so hard to see up close. One great thing has been to see how this community can rally among itself - the number of people jumping in to donate time, food and toys, bring supplies and water, be a shoulder to lean on and even offer places to stay for everyone who is without water, electricity, and shelter has been incredible. There’s a TON of work still to go, and no one can do it alone, but I’m glad to be a part of a city like this one.

Tuesday Tornado Relief Update: . What we are hearing now is that many places are being overloaded on supplies so we are working on shifting our relief efforts so we can best serve those in need. . While we can still accept your donations at the brewery (please, no clothing - with the exception of NEW socks/undergarments), as the days go on we are finding it harder to place these items at donation centers as they are being overrun with supplies. We are currently working with connecting directly with people/families who have specific needs at the moment. Toiletries (soap, deodorant, oral care, toilet paper/wipes), baby food/formula/diapers, trash bags, work gloves, tarps, flashlights/batteries, and cleaning supplies (disinfecting wipes, laundry detergent, etc) are going to continue to be needed as well as cash/gift cards/gas cards. . If you want to keep up with daily needs/relief efforts, our friend put together & shared a document where you can sign up to receive updates. It's to help connect volunteers and members of the community directly with opportunities that match their availability and desire to help as well as provide support for those in need. To have to carry your babies to the basement closet during tornado sirens in the middle of the night.
