I woke up at 1:45 yesterday morning to fish the NTXKC on lake Gilmer. I had a pretty good day of fishing and was fortunate to finish 3/54 with 94.5”. I had never been to Gilmer before the tournament so I just kind of winged it out there. I caught my first two fish on a Accent River Special (kicker series) then picked up the hollow belly frog and got some of my better bass. As the day went I saw lots of bass still on beds spawning, but I couldn’t get them to eat. So I started targeting balls of bass fry with a swim jig and picked up a couple fry guarders for my last two culls. Huge congrats to Erick and Brandon for smashing it (102.75”, 99.75”).
