'Getting out' consists of our backyard at the moment, but after the last few months it is totally worth it to avoid the germs & keep us healthy (even if all of my conversations involve cars, trucks and the newest craze - excavators). With everything that has happened over the past couple of months I feel as though I haven't truly been able to relax and just enjoy Jack in all his newborn goodness, but today I sat and just soaked him in. Now that he is 'well', he is so alert and responsive, and is giving huge smiles in response to my high pitched Mum voice (yes, we all do it!) It feels so good to finally be together in our own environment doing what some may call mundane, routine things...but it's us, it's home and it's everything I have been praying for ♡
It’s been a very chilled out day in my household today I was able to tackle the mess of the house and spend heaps of time with Cole. This week has been busy between work and social outings so it felt so good just to bum around at home. Cole’s been a little sooky with his teething today so I’ve soaked up some cuddles too Since Cole is teething on and off, his cheeks get super red and he feels warm in the face. I’m SO thankful to have this @braunhealthcareau thermometer to get an accurate reading and put my mind at ease I’ve been using this bad boy on the daily jusssssst to make sure he doesn’t have a temp. OH and we’ve had some whopper teething poops these past couple of days anyone else’s baby get some ripper teething poos #braunthermoscan
Another day, another scare & another admission. This boy sure is keeping us on our toes and turning his Mumma grey. Jack developed a fever over the weekend and had multiple tests to rule out sepsis, which came back as what seems to have been a 'contaminated'/false positive (yes, just our luck) - thankfully the doctors instead think it is all part of his viral infection which seems to have had another exacerbation of symptoms, but something we need to monitor closely nonetheless. He is back home again now and while still not 100%, there is no doubt he is tougher than anyone I know. You will move mountains my boy, but first, please just stay healthy! ♡

'Getting out' consists of walks, doctors appointments and our backyard at the moment, but after the last few months it is totally worth it to avoid the germs & keep us healthy. I'm not gonna lie, I do feel guilty at times for not giving my boys 'more', but then they remind me that it's the simple things that spark joy - the flashing lights on a truck, singing songs in the car, walking a different bike track and giving long cuddles when it's all too much. This is what truly matters. It feels so good to finally 'be' together in our own environment doing what some may call mundane, routine things...but it's us, it's home and it's everything I have been praying for; and it's all these two ever need ♡

I served this lunch to Mr 7 yesterday (you can see what came home in my stories) and it was pretty much all eaten.
•
So what was not eaten....take a guess...
•
If you guessed celery you’d be right. This was a learning food that I packed in his lunchbox.
•
What’s a learning food? Well this is something I learnt from @veggiesandvirtue where she suggests offering food that our kids love, like and learning.
•
I have no expectation that Mr 7 will eat his learning food but I’m exposing it to him in a safe way with all his other options that I know he likes and loves.
•
Last night Mr 7 said to me “oh Mum I did have a tiny try of those other little green things {celery}” that’s what is about not that he at them all!
•
In Mr 7’s @littlelunchboxco bento 5
