After the unfortunate death of her boyfriend, wherein he had tried to jump scare her, causing her powers to reveal themselves for the first time and kill him, they knew they had to have her. Otto Vermis was the first on the scene, finding a traumatised Jessica clutching her boyfriend’s body. He told her he could help her control her powers and use them for good if she joined the association and she accepted. Little did she know, HYDRA’s true motive was to make Jess one of their assassins. They tortured and brainwashed her until she became the perfect killer and gave her her first mission: assassinate Nick Fury. When she attempted to take his life, Fury made a counter offer: to join SHIELD and help them take down HYDRA for good. She accepted and took the guise of a SHIELD agent- unbeknownst to them, she planned on infiltrating the organisation. Jess was convinced to leave Hydra by Nick Fury in order to help the ‘good guys’ (SHIELD) and similarly Mirage was convinced to help the Incredibles after realising Syndrome would kill not only her but children to get what he wanted. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ : The two would seemingly do anything for the men that they love. They are loyal to the point of bad decisions but ultimately they will chose themselves over the men that hurt them. Though it wasn’t confirmed, Buddy and Mirage appeared to have had some sort of romantic relationship which would explain her loyalty to him, Jess herself has been in love with disastrous effects.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ : ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Both Jessica and Mirage are devoted to their work and are very good at what they do.
