Light Play. I have been having a play this afternoon with the light falling into our conservatory. When photographers talked about the light it didn’t really mean anything for a longtime. But now I get what they mean. This morning the light was hard and bright and even using the same composition it was too much. Leaving the photograph until now and in a different area of the house means it is softer. I just wanted to use these gourds for their colour and texture. So I’m really pleased with my first attempt at stilllife composition. I hope you have had a good day friends.

Photography literally means something like "to draw with light". Photography ultimately is all about light. A camera sensor does nothing else than recording light. It is a photographer's lifelong journey to find amazing light and to capture it. I am extremely grateful to have found the most magical light I ever witnessed in Lalibela this year. Lalibela is the place in Ethiopia, where every year thousands of pilgrims walk for up to several months from all over the country to celebrate Orthodox Christmas. Would it not be for my interest in photography, I would have never experienced this mysterious place and beautiful light. #powerofphotography #allaboutthelight
