Yes we do. Give me the name of anything and I will know if it contains any dairy or soya, even traces. #dairy #soy #soya #dairyallergy #soyaallergy #allergymum #allergic #allergymeme #reflux #aip #tigernuts #nonutbutter #paleo #avocadooil #smallbusiness #handmadesmallbatch #hashimotos #autoimmuneprotocol #autoimmunedisease #thyroid #foodismedicine #healthyfood #vegan #leakygut #celiac #antiinflammatory
Discovered these beauties in @asda today - @moo_free_chocolates dairy, soya and gluten free ‘Choccie Chums’ - I guess they are a bit like a Cadbury Freddo, and only 55p!
I have hidden these in the cupboard for a surprise the next time my daughter asks for chocolate. I think she will be very excited! She knows the moo free characters well and loves the chocolate It’s great to see another child friendly product added to the line up!
This one turned out amazingly well! Top 8 free, plant based dyes, delicious! The top was a 6 layer rainbow cake and the bottom was chocolate! Recipe for my never fail vanilla cake to follow! ❤️ #top8free #peanutfree #treenutfree #eggfree #soyfree #glutenfree #glutenfreevegan #vegan #eosinophilicgastroenteritis #eosinophilicesophagitis #egid #allergysafe #allergymum #pensacola #navarre #fortwaltonbeach #deliciouslyalternative #mermaidcake #vegancake #glutenfreecake
•SCHOOL DINNERS•
I’ve just burst into tears in front of my daughter’s reception teacher.
My 4 year old has decided she wants school dinners for the first time today, so she can sit with her best friend. Way back in September I spoke to the school dinner lady and sorted out a suitable milk and soya free menu. But this is the first time in her life that she’s ever eaten something that I haven’t cooked myself or checked the ingredients myself. I’ve had to be so controlled around food for so long, it’s really hard to let go. Especially as one of her allergies is milk, which is going to be in everyone else’s meal. (Her reactions are mild/moderate delayed reactions, otherwise I might not risk it).
I’m sure it will be fine, the school is well aware of her allergies, it’s just one of those steps along the allergy journey that are really hard for me as a mum.
I have a gazillion bananas that need to be used up so I’m going to make Luca a banana cake I freeze all of my baking for his lunch box so that he can have a nice sweet treat with his lunch I was going to cheat and buy him some muesli bars but could not find a single type that were vegan and nut free (preschool is nut free ) it must be a sign for me not to be lazy #mumstruggles #allergymum
Today we spent the day in hospital with #mypoppetgirl. She has multiple allergies, which we began to discover when she was just 10 days old. For the first few days she was like any other newborn, with equal parts, sleeping, crying, pooping and burping. On day 10 she started to cry. Any moment she was awake she was crying - not a cute baby whimper, but a full on, vain popping, crimson faced, blood curdling howl. That's all day EVERY DAY. No one had any answers for us, health visitor said it was probably gas, the doctor said it might be colic, but my mummy senses knew that there was something more... seeing my daughter inconsolably screaming in my arms, all attempts failing to calm her were some of the hardest moments of my life. Motherhood hits you like a kick in the teeth, those first few weeks are a brutal baptism of fire that no one can prepare you for - and to add on top of that such an unhappy baby, there were moments where my husband and I would look at each through exhausted eyes and say, fuck this is hard. The day we found blood in her nappy was the last straw, after hours of trawling the internet for answers I self diagnosed a possible milk allergy, and as I was breastfeeding the first course of action was to cut out all dairy from my diet - it's not as easy as just saying no to cheese, there is dairy in EVERYTHING, within a couple more weeks I also cut out soya and egg, and over that time she gradually began to cry a little less, breastfeeding went from a screaming writhing battle to something resembling a bonding experience, and she began to smile. My husband and I slowly came down from the adrenaline of the 24/7 panic mode we had been in and began to settle in to our new life as parents, with hope. Today, 9 months on we have begun to get some answers - poppet had a skin prick test which has confirmed a wide range of serious allergies. We have an epipen and are under specialist outpatient care at the hospital. Although the confirmation of so many #allergies is kind of hard to come to terms with (what the hell will I feed her?!), ultimately knowledge is power, and we will prevail. #trustyourgut #mumknowsbest #allergymum #cmpa #skinprick #skinpricktest
We’ve decided to branch out a little more when it comes to trusting restaurants to make Daisy her food. She usually has crudités or fruit salad but I’ve learned to stop worrying so much about cross contamination. It’s hard but as you can see Daisy loves eating out! #allergies #allergymum #fpies #cmpa #lifewithallergies #whatsonmyplate #caferouge #fruitsalad #lunchtime #lunch #daisybluestevens
