“I know recently a lot of my Facebook/Instagram posts have been about my mum, but after seeing what she is going through it makes me realise how much we need to beat Alzheimer’s or at least some sort of relief.
I don’t usually share pictures of my mum like this one, it can be quite upsetting, there may be people who wouldn’t want me to share a pic of my mum like this, but it’s my mum l and the truth is, this is why there is no cure or advance in research. Not enough hard hitting adverts and information!
I am guilty my self of only sharing the best “happy” pictures of my mum because they nice! And make you smile. But in this picture you can see what Alzheimer’s has done to my lovely mum.
It is the cruelest thing I have ever seen!
The worst is having your mum there but missing her so so much .
This post isn’t for attention, likes or shares, I feel helpless and can’t do anything for my mum, the least I can do is raise a bit of awareness “ @snap_away_

June is Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month — an opportunity to learn more about the brain, and share the fact that Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias are one of the leading public health issues. No one is immune from Alzheimer’s, but this disproportionately affects women 2/3 more in the US.
During the month of June, the Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement wants to help spread awareness, and in doing so, help everyone use their brains to fight Alzheimer’s disease. Stay tuned for more to come throughout June! #alzheimersandbrainawarenessmonth
Missing grandma. Today we would’ve celebrated her 87th birthday. She was beautiful, independent & STRONG but unfortunately, the last couple years of her life we witnessed what #Alzheimers can do to a person. Today I not only honor her but I’m so thankful for organizations like @socalzofficial @alzassociation & everyone who continues to raise awareness so that one day we can #ENDALZ. P.S. the second picture is of grandmas thumb print. My mom had them made so that we would always have her close to our heart. #ALZ #June #alzheimersawarenessmonth

June is Alzheimer’s and Brain Health Awareness Month, and we want all of you to get involved! Follow our founder, @mariashriver’s advice and TAG A BRAIN! Pick someone whose brain you love, tell them why, and tag them. And you know the rules of tag...once you’re tagged, you’re it! It’s then your turn to tag a brain. Keep tagging all month long to help us spread the word about brain health. #tagabrain
