Today, we celebrate the Summer Solstice. It’s imperative to keep our brains healthy, not just today, but everyday! For those in the Alzheimer’s community, let’s work on making the start of summer the healthiest yet!
We need your help to shed light on why Alzheimer’s disproportionately affects women. The research we fund everyday would be impossible without continued donations, which is why we are raising money on Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month to keep this important work going!
You have until midnight tonight for donations to be matched up to $20,000! So head up to our link in bio, and donate. And make sure you are practicing brain health, no matter what day it is! #summersolstice
June is Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month. Just as there’s no known cure for Alzheimer’s, there are no foolproof preventive measures. However, researchers are focusing on overall healthy lifestyle habits, like the ones listed, as ways of preventing cognitive decline. ⚕️ Head to our link in bio to learn more about Alzheimer's and how to slow progression of the disease if you or a loved one have been diagnosed.

This morning, fashion icon, author, and artist Gloria Vanderbilt passed away at 95. Although Vanderbilt famously did not have an easy life, dealing with much personal loss, she lived life to the fullest. She is the perfect example of never giving up, of always keeping your brain active, and truly getting (and giving) the most out of life! How are you living life to the fullest this week? #motivationmonday
We love how a simple song can evoke happy memories. Although Christine may not be able to sing along to her favourite song anymore, it still makes her smile, and her daughter is there to sing it to her.

This Friday, we are thrilled to have holistic nutritionist & wellness expert, @elissagoodman, chatting with us. Not only did Elissa survive cancer, but she cured herself from Hashimoto’s, so she knows a thing or two about staying healthy! Elissa will also be joining us in November for Move For Minds! #fridayfeature

Many of my family memebers have had dementia. It was heartbreaking to see someone so smart and witty lose this part of their personality. Also, they lost the ability to live on their own and take care of themselves.
Wellness is very important to me after surviving cancer, celiac, Hashimoto's and many other ailments. Also, my husband passed away from cancer at the early age of 45 yrs. old. I'm on a mission to stay strong and vibrant as long as I can!

I want women to know they can do many things to help prevent this health issue. We have so many resources today to help us heal our bodies from most health issues and stay feeling physically and mentally strong.
Start early tuning into your body and your instincts to make sure you are managing your stress, sleeping well, eating nutrient-dense foods, exercising, finding your passion and keeping your social network strong to help keep you living a long and healthy life.
I do meditation everyday and yoga as often as I can.
What are you doing this Monday to care for yourself? Is it taking a walk, eating a nice, brain healthy meal, going to sleep early? What are the everyday tasks that you can turn into the “little moments”? This week, find the everyday, mundane tasks — like washing your hair — and find ways to make them special! Maybe light a candle, play some @lizzobeeating, or use that fancy shampoo you’ve been saving. Whatever the task is, make the humdrum more exciting, and see if that doesn’t make you feel more spectacular! #motivationmonday
That’s right, ladies. According to a new report from the @capublichealth, Alzheimer’s Disease is now the leading cause of death among women in California. This is shocking, sad, and so disappointing, because the more we learn about Alzheimer’s, the more we learn there are preventive actions we all can take to lower our risk.
So, let’s have this not be a continuing trend. Let’s work to lower the risk of Alzheimer’s, both globally and locally! Sign up to be part of our movement today to see how you can take actionable steps to prevent Alzheimer’s, raise awareness in yourself and in others, and how you can help us fund our mission. Head up to the link in bio for more details! ♀️ #sciencesaturday
Who remembers “I” statements? We love this twist on them from @laurajaneillustrations. It is so easy to be hard on yourself, to put yourself down. We know the mindset of saying “I suck” is hard to turn to an “I am awesome,” but what if you don’t even allow yourself to get to the negative?
What if you just focused on the positive, and saw what came from there? We are true believers that being positive can have huge positive implications in your brain, and science agrees! We want you to fill in the blank for us in the comments, and tell us what you are... #thursdaythoughts
