It’s been a while since we have joined a contest for #homebarawards , and this month it’s all about equal parts. As it turns out, we’ve been dreaming of making this drink for weeks! While most our drinks we aim for contrasting flavors for balance, this one is all about compliments. —————— The Shining ▪️1oz @ahusakvavit ▪️1oz @italicusrdb ▪️1oz @luxardousa Bitter Bianco ▪️1BS Riesling Reduction Simple Stir all ingredients on ice in mixing glass, we then squeezed a bit of lemon on top and then poured into cocktail glass with block of #clearice from @mnpureclearice. We then topped the cocktail with 3 big dashes of #Peychauds #bitters. To ensure the bitters floated, we dashed into shot glass and then slowly poured onto the top of the ice. —————— We first weren’t sure if we were going to float the bitters or just stir it in; therefore making that wonderful pink color. Glad we floated it, as the red to clear contrast is #amazeballs. And hot dang is this fun to sip! The nose is entirely, as expected, peychauds. But then we have the wonderfully bitter & sweet follow through on the palate. Refreshing, easy and complex all at once. And, with equal parts, an easy recipe to remember!
