Myrcene is a significant component of the essential oil of several plants , including bay, cannabis, ylang-ylang, wild thyme, and parsley. This terpene is a colourless liquid with a pleasant earthy odour. Myrcene is an important intermediate used in the perfumery industry . It is highly valued as an intermediate for the preparation ⚗️ of flavour and fragrance chemicals such as menthol, citronella and linalool. Interestingly, research has shown that myrcene improves the psychoactive effects of cannabis by helping critical chemicals to enter the brain more easily. Myrcene also has anti-inflammatory and analgesic (pain-relieving) effects. Thanks anonymous for the suggestion! The molecular structure was created using ChemDoodle. Phenazopyridine, also known as Pyridium, is a medication that has a local analgesic (painkilling) effect when excreted into the urine. Hence, it is often used to treat pain, burning , and increased urination. While it does not treat the cause of the urinary irritation, it can drastically help to relieve the symptoms. Today I am busy getting late orders to the post office now that the Easter holiday closure is over. My apothecary is pretty much sold out of all ointments and tubes except for the Datura Ointment. Datura is the one medicinal nightshade I use that has the most fear around it due to datura poisonings still occurring in the US today. The instances of poisoning are almost always one or more persons intentionally ingesting or smoking the plant to get high. Datura tends to teach such people a very harsh lesson. No one has a good datura consumption story.
.
Datura properly dosed in ointment form is a completely different story. It becomes a soothing medicine for the pain of bumps, bruises, breaks, pulled muscles and tendons, inflammation, spasms, and cramps. It can also be applied externally to help with anxiety, insomnia, headaches, and nausea —keeping in mind it can take up to two hours for the full effects to set in. Side effects mainly present as dry mouth, sleepiness, and giggles. Not so scary.
.
In Folk magic datura is sacred to coyote and deer and was used to break curses, to purify oneself after an ill deed, to ask for help from spirits, and to dream the future or answers to questions. Medicine men used it as medicine, a larger dose for aphrodisiac effects, and a larger dose still to travel in the spirit realms.
.
During times when the whole tribe was in peril, the Chumash of Southern California would use datura in a community ceremony to ask their ancestors what they should do. I feel like in our current apocalyptic climate it is time to use datura again and dream a better future for ourselves so we are better prepared to persevere through what is still to come. Walpurgisnacht is coming and the perfect time for a rite to ask wisdom of the ancestors. See you at the sabbath or among the wild hunt.

Tramadol, sold under the brand name Ultram among others, is an opioid pain medication used to treat moderate to moderately severe pain . When taken orally in an immediate-release formulation, the onset of pain relief usually occurs within an hour. Typically, it is combined with paracetamol (acetaminophen) as this combination is known to improve the efficacy of tramadol in relieving pain. Unfortunately, long-term use of high doses of tramadol will cause physical dependence and withdrawal syndrome. Symptoms include numbness, tingling and tinnitus, along with psychiatric symptoms like hallucinations, paranoia, extreme anxiety, panic attacks, and confusion . Tramadol withdrawal typically lasts longer than that of other opioids like morphine or codeine. Because of the possibility of convulsions at high doses for some users, recreational use can be very dangerous ☠️. However, tramadol is easily obtained via over-the-counter products, making it a commonly abused drug around the world. Tramadol is used in Nigeria both by Boko Haram and vigilante groups fighting Boko Haram. Fighters are given it to make them feel strong and courageous. Thanks anonymous for the suggestion! Yarrow (achillea millefolium) was named for the Greek warrior Achilles. Achilles asked the centaur Chiron how to heal his men after battle and Chiron blessed each battlefield with the healer plant yarrow.
Yarrow was known in ancient times as “soldiers wound wort”. A poultice made of the stems and roots placed on the wound had styptic qualities helping to clot blood and close wounds. Yarrow root has analgesic properties to numb pain as well. Also known as “carpenter’s herb” as carpenters would carry a sprig during their work for first aid of a cut.
Use yarrow with powerful lymphatic herb plantain & calcium rich comfrey to heal and rebuild cells and tissues.
Yarrow is a beautiful herb for toning the female reproductive system, keeping circulation flowing for less clotting and pain during moon cycle. Use tea as a douche and internally to unblock stagnation.
She is queen of the diaphoretics! Use as a tea during a fever to induce sweating. Indigenous peoples used yarrow in sweat lodges to open the pores & release
Yarrow pulls toxins out of the body making it helpful for those recovering from toxic cancer treatments.
Vibrationally as a flower essence, yarrow is compassionate, sensitive, and offers protection to the emotionally wounded, strengthening our boundaries and giving us an interior hug and love.
I love, LOVE this giant yarrow growing here at the straw bale house. There is so much beautiful qi energy here and I love to connect to it
☀️Happy Summer Solstice beautiful friends and flowers! Wishing you all love and good healing!

Image of medial prefrontal cortex neurons in mice with neuropathic pain. Parvalbumin-positive interneurons (red) are co-labeled with the axon initial segment marker (Ankyrin-G, green) and the nuclear marker (DAPI; blue). Axon initial segments were shorter in animals with neuropathic pain, an effect that is reversed by treatment with certain analgesics.
