On the eve of the last performance of Anastasia the Musical , I wanted to say a few things about how much this show has meant to me. Doing the movie of Anastasia was one of my favorite jobs ever, but I never realized what an impact the film had on people until the show opened. To see the love that audiences have for this show, it’s wonderful score, story and performances, makes me proud, and grateful to have been a part of it at the beginning. To see my friends Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (2 of the nicest people in the world) have their beautiful movie become a hit show on Bway has made me so happy. And then there’s Christy. We met on opening night in Hartford and then again at the Opening night on Bway. She was so nice, so talented. I never dreamed we’d get to sing together, but we did, and boy was it fun: first at the Broadway Princess Party, (Thx @brauhala ) and then in the recording studio when she kindly agreed to record our duet of Journey to the Past with me, and then finally, on the stage of the Broadhurst Theatre with the full show orchestra. (I still can’t believe that happened!) Thx to Christy, and to everyone at @anastasiabway ,and congrats on a wonderful 2 year run!
