My top 10 (kind of) Oud fragrances #top10oudfragrances @fragrance_weirdo tagged me in to pick my top ten Oud fragrances. So as I was counting how many Oud fragrances I have and I got to 36 and got interrupted. The ones I know that definitely have Oud in, total to 37, there were a few I was unsure about and would need to check. Anyway point is, because I have soo many Oud fragrances, picking a top 10 was difficult. For example, I love Oud Wood by Tom Ford. Aoud, oud. По русски: уд. Агаровое дерево, орлиное дерево, алойное дерево, райское дерево: это названия одного дерева, растущего в жарких местах, из которого получают эфирное удовое масло. Это масло и используют в парфюмерии. Точнее, масло получают из дерева, пропитанного смолой. Смола выделяется и пропитывает древесину, когда дерево заражается паразитами, или от повреждений. И вот: чем старше дерево, тем старее эта смола и тем интереснее она пахнет и соответственно дороже стоит. Стоимость качественного масла около 18 000 евро за 1 кг. Чем пахнет то? Старым деревом и пахнет))) Смолой. Горчит немного. Очень приятный природный запах. Отлично этот запах сочетается с цветами, особенно с розой. На днях тестировала удовые композиции от Montale. Это просто чудо, что за запахи. Словами не передать. Tarteel Gold - Arabian Oud This is the fragrance I won as part of the Arabian Oud giveaway on their Instagram. I highly recommend following their page. I had to post a video unboxing this scent as I’ve never experienced such impeccable, exquisite detail when opening a fragrance. The box is presented in gold, with detailed embellishments. Finished with leather, wood and suede. This scent opens with a gourmand rose note, and seems to deepen after a short time, revealing a more true rose note. The oud is constantly present through to the dry down which showcases sweet vanilla and woods. Overall I’m really impressed with Arabian Oud. The store is amazing with exceptional quality scents and presentation.
