Growing up, at some point, I have been a little insecure of a few things. One of them being my weight. If you’re a body type like mine, you’d know how difficult it is to gain weight. It never really bothered me until I reached a certain age and was supposed to look a “certain” body type. I was expected to have thicker thighs, broader frame, and all sorts of things we associate with “beauty” today. To come up to peoples expectations of “beautiful”, I started I eating more than I usually would, to a point, I’d feel sick due to overeating. I would eat all sorts of junk & unhealthy so I could gain that little weight. It was a few months later I sat down to understand what I was trying to do. I was trying to challenge a body type that really won’t gain weight (it’s in my genes). I was trying to challenge my mental capacity on how much can it bear. I wouldn’t dress up because in my head I thought, “I wouldn’t look good no matter what I wore only because I don’t have a “certain” body type”. The reason I’m sharing this today is because we as girls, or even boys for that matter, need to realize that, in order to survive or liked by certain people you DO NOT need to compromise on your mental and physical health. Your body type, your weight, your physical features are all a part of you. You don’t need to change them to “fit in” (as long it’s not affecting your physical or mental health). So, stop accepting everything that’s been thrown at you. You’re beautiful even if that pair of jeans doesn’t fit you because you’ve gained a little weight, you’re beautiful even if someone thinks you have more bones than flesh, you’re beautiful regardless of your skin color. You weren’t born to live up to peoples expectations of beauty. -
It’s these little things that can take up a lot of negative energy, and you gotta grow out of it. Today, I love every bit of my body. My skinny frame doesn’t affect me anymore. I’ve learnt that you don’t need someone else to tell you you’re beautiful. You don’t need to be looking a certain way to feel beautiful. You just need to love yourself. Honestly. Genuinely. With everything you have.
NOW SLAY THAT FREAKING BODY. ❤️❤️
My parents never insisted on me switching to desi outfits here or whenever I was back home which I am glad they didnt. But eversince last eid, I realised I barely have desi clothes to wear cuz even when I’m in India I still wear what I would normally wear here in UAE. So I went on a rampage and bought a few desi outfits which I will be sharing with you guys eventually♥️ I’m not really an expert when it comes to the on going trends so they might not be the latest trending outfits but just pieces I really liked and resonates with me.
Also if you guys know whats trending or any good stores in UAE or Calicut let me know! I’d love to check them out
