We started this house on Montford last week. Built in 1890-1892. It’s known as the Dr. Charles Collins Orr House, named for it’s longest ownership from 1914-1960. It’s an interesting Shingle Style/Colonial Revival mix with lots of details (my favorite being the sawtooth shingles on the bottom of the gables.) • It was neglected for a long time and had to be stripped down to the studs for structural repairs and reframing. One interesting fact is that the facade of the house faces west, rather than towards Montford Ave. • It’s being completely renovated by @builtwrightconstruction and we are restoring the 45 window openings which are a mix of double hung, fixed sashes, and casement windows. This will be a gorgeous home when finished. I’ve always loved passing by now I’m excited to get to help restore this beauty!
