This is very ‘Hollywood’ of me to take a trailer photo hehe! But I always get really excited when I book something and I have my own trailer. The truth is, behind the glitz & glam and the signature “trailer selfie” is a whole lot of waiting, running lines (mostly on your own), and long shifts on set (10-16hrs), whether you have one line or you’re a series regular. Also, it can take 10, 20, or even 50+ auditions before you actually book something at all. I’m not complaining because I absolutely LOVE every second of it, but I do want to shed light on how it actually operates for those of you who may think being an actress means having a fun makeover and a quick run in front of a camera. But nonetheless, it is truly worth it if you love it! @pbpla is an event we ❤️ supporting not just because we get to dress up & eat delicious food (but I mean ‍♀️). It’s a community event that brings everyone together to support a cause. This year PBP LA is teaming up with Center for for Pacific Asian Family to advocate for Asian & Pacific Islander American representation in the movement to end homelessness in Los Angeles County. TY to the organizers for always pushing for change & impact in the community! We’re excited to be attending this year & don’t be surprised if you see us stuffing our faces with food :)

Taking a moment to sit in the goodness and let go of the darkness ☀️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Last week, my cofounder @moxykk and I had a mini-breakdown on the phone. We cried and admitted that we’re scared. And DAMN, did it feel good. Over the past few months, the pressure to succeed, to not make mistakes, to execute on our biggest project yet had been building up. As we faced new challenges and unexpected obstacles, I wore my brave face and kept marching forward. But there comes a time when you need to let shit out. So you can breathe again. But more importantly, so you don’t choke. By acknowledging the monsters we’d been cramming into the closet (fear, anxiety, hopelessness, frustration), they grew smaller and had less power over us. I’ve always believed in holding space for the lows AND the highs. Especially on platforms like IG that incentivize curation of “perfect” moments. I wanna keep it real with you bc to be human is to live in imperfection and duality. Freedom lies in focusing on what we can control and making peace with what we can’t. Now that my monsters are out of the closet, I want to share 3 things that helped pull me out of my funk: 1️⃣ The outcome you want might not be the outcome you need: When zeroing in on a goal, our vision can get pretty myopic, making it tough to see alternate pathways. The less we attach ourselves to the way it “should” turn out, the more receptive we can be to the spectrum of possibilities. 2️⃣ No losses, just lessons: Setbacks can feel so personal sometimes. But if you’re doing something for the first time, they’re simply part of the package! If we can treat failures and no’s as lessons, we stand to gain insight no matter the outcome. 3️⃣ You’re not a machine: If something is stressing you out, step away from it. More time staring at your laptop doesn’t mean more results. Go hang out with friends, hit the gym, or watch a movie. Give your creativity a chance to recharge - you’ll come up with better ideas from an objective, calm, and more spacious place. How do you let go of your monsters? We got whisked away to a magical land while watching Into the Woods this past weekend! Thank you to @soundpoint @hollywoodbowl and @laphil for providing a perfect night in LA. All 3 of us have never been to the Hollywood Bowl before, and we’ve now found our favorite venue ( & next date stop cough cough). Also, a big shout out to the asian boss ladies @graceyloufreebush @edelynokano @stellaellakim who took the stage! It was so inspiring to see other ABGs performing alongside a star studded ensemble. I don’t know where to begin but WOW. We just wrapped CRAZY this past weekend. 7 days. 6 episodes. 1 badass & wildly talented team!!! This is my first show as a Showrunner (creator/writer/exec producer), Director, and Lead Star. This web series gave me & so many queer, WOC, & allies the chance and space to take risks, make mistakes, create visual poetry, collaborate, & grow as artists. I am SO grateful for every single cast & crew member - whether you worked on our set from start to finish or filled in for a day! I am so proud of our team & so fkn proud of myself!
