This is my favorite kind of family portrait. It’s not about pretty light, or coordinated outfits, or even an interesting moment. It’s just about the family living their lives in this sacred space in their home. @patrickkolts is a photographer who flies around the world making pictures and @carolinemariekolts is a writer who holds it all together at home when he is away. It’s all work, and it’s all hard, this parenthood thing. Whether you’re hustling to fund your family or juggling babies on your lap while trying to have a moment of inspiration, it’s always a balance of finding your freedom. I can’t help but see myself in this image, and I love how Caroline describes this aspect of motherhood in her recent post of that beautiful blue eyed baby boy.
