That's my kind of brunch I'm not usually hungry in the morning yet I love breakfast foods, so I often cook a nicely filling brunch when hunger arises, usually around noon. Plus it's the time of the day when, in ayurveda, it's recommanded to eat your biggest meal: The sun high in the sky, it's Pitta time, when the digestive fire is at its strongest!
So here is an express pancake recipe with only 3 ingredients:
-1 cup of rolled oats (certified gluten free if needed)
-2 bananas
-Plant based milk
Put the oats and bananas in a blender, cover up with milk, mix it up and voila!
For an extra touch I love to add half a teaspoon of cinnamon, which in addition to its wonderful flavor is very good for the immune system and to reduce the glycemic index.
Here I topped it with mapple syrup, garden picked strawberries and the best spirulina in the world (@dana.spirulina ) harvested with love by my sister Suzanne (@suzy.confetti )
What's your favorite pancake topping ?
Homemade pizza made from spelt flour and lots of veggies..

“since metabolism is occurring even at a cellular level, it is evident that each cell has a certain intelligence, almost like its own brain. any colony of cells can form a self healing network.” om swami
FOOD REACHES EVERY CELL IN YOUR BODY. you consume thousands of grams of food vs a few grams of supplements a day. ayurveda places sooo much value on what we consume and ultimately what we actually digest and assimilate. the best way to get intel on what truly *feeds* you is by tapping into your intuition. how do you feel? what’d you eat? consultations include a super comprehensive section on diet, usually i ask clients to keep a running list of all food intake for 3 or so days to get the real picture.
things to remember •medicine for me may be poison for you
•live by the 80/20 rule
•never dabble with a guilt trip if you’re hanging in the 20% zone
•chew your food really well, if you don’t the body is taxed by having to produce extra digestive enzymes
•eat mostly alkaline, the body is acidic by nature
•eat in season! eat a proper times in the day!
•eat according to your true nature 〰️ dosha
•bless your meal, bless your farmer
✨Triphala and Digestion✨ Ayurveda uses food and herbs as medicine! One of the most well-known and commonly used Ayurvedic herbs is triphala. Triphala is a combination of the fruits of three plants. The three plants are dried, ground into powder, and blended to precise amounts. The three herbs are: amalaki, haritaki, and bibhitaki.
Triphala is traditionally used as a bowel tonic. It is often prescribed as a mild laxative. Though it also has many noteworthy qualities! Triphala acts as a rejuvenative herb. It helps to maintain a state of good health in the mind and body. Triphala is traditionally taken with honey and ghee (triphala rasayana). According to the classical Ayurvedic text the Charaka Samhita, taking this daily can “make a person live for one hundred years devoid of old age and diseases.” ✨Triphala’s qualities are light and dry, adding lightness to the mind and body. It cleanses all the channels in the body, especially the channels of elimination, thus aiding in detoxification. The biggest impact is perhaps the health benefits as they relate to digestion. This mixture encourages balanced, full elimination, by pulling stagnated Ama or toxic residue from the digestive tract and increasing the colon’s absorption functions.
In Ayurveda, the colon is the seat of Vata. Medicine, like Triphala, that helps the function of the colon is beneficial to general Vata disorders. Several bowel diseases start out as Vata imbalances, even if later fueled by Pitta or Kapha issues. Triphala’s balancing effect on the “wind” of your digestive tract can not only get things moving but also help your bowels find the appropriate pace for optimal absorption.
✨
Triphala promotes digestive regularity. The importance of this cannot be understated, especially for those who suffer from irregular elimination and other forms of bowel disease. I did a little happy wiggle while I ate this
•
•
•
Sprouted whole wheat tortilla, arugula, vegan sunflower mozzarella, grape tomatoes, pesto, olives ♥️

•
Typically, Ayurveda does not recommend tomatoes, as they are part of the nightshade family and can create joint inflammation for some individuals. These teeny tiny grape tomatoes are the best choice as they are the easiest to digest ☺️
