This is Lucian enjoying his afternoon snack. Lucian loves watermelon so much, always his go-to-fruits whenever we are eating out. It also keeps him busy but back when Lucian was around 7 months, he accidentally choked on watermelon which I gave him as finger food. He doesnt have teeth yet that time and I have underestimated the size, I probably cut a piece that was too big and I ended up doing the back blows/slaps to him until the watermelon popped out to the floor(thank God for my profession). I was traumatized to be honest, but grateful that I knew what to do that time. So for moms out there who are to start with complementary feeding and also for does who have started already but doesnt know what to do in case of choking incident, please watch instructional videos on youtube. Let’s hope and pray you wont need it but it is always better be prepared in case of emergency.

Blueberry muffin with 70% cocoa bar and almonds on top
I love baking, not a pro at this actually, I just love how convenient it is for me to make a basic muffin recipe, put it in the oven and just wait for it while making another meal for Lucian. Most daysI only have an hour to prepare, cook and clean. Luckily, Im good at multitasking due to the nature of my work back then so most of the time I can finish 2-3 kinds of dishes in an hour. Like what I prepared today, muffins, fried rice and a wonton for lucian’s lunch.

Apple cinnamon quinoa with almonds
The last time Lucian ate quinoa was when he was less than a year old and surprisingly he still loves it now. He finished his quinoa in 10minutes. This is a good bfast alternative, super easy to do and packed with nutrients.
Ingredients
(Good for 2 generous servings, you can cut it in half if you prefer a small serving lang)
1/4 cup white quinoa
1 big apple
1/4 tsp cinnamon powder
1 tsp coco sugar (optional)
2 tsp flax meal
2 tsp chia seeds
2 tbsp sliced blanched almonds
Wash quinoa properly, in a small pot add water and chopped apples (i prefer thin slice) plus coco sugar and cinnamon powder. Mix well and cook in medium heat for 20-25 minutes. Add chia seeds and flax meal. Let it simmer for 2 minutes. Turn off heat and add almonds.
