This week be cray. . Although the fresh mountain air did us plenty of good, the sleep deprivation of traveling means that we’re {I’m} not often our {my} best self/selves in the days that follow. Snapping, tantruming, thunderous mama-bear roaring...it’s alllll been happening up in here. Add in back-to-school later this week {yes—already!}, and you’ve got a pretty unruly bunch over here.‍♀️ . It was with said stellar comport that I dragged us over to the church yesterday, having made a specific team commitment to intentional Monday prayer. {Because otherwise, let me tell you... nope}. . But you know what? Despite all of us mean-mugging it on the way in, we had the luxury of the sanctuary to ourselves, prayed our reluctantly-begun Rosary with increasing joy {thanks to silly noises to supplement bead counting, let’s be real} and it even ended with my hooligans lighting candles to voluntarily pray for each other. . It reminded me that it’s when we’re feeling worst that we need prayer most; when we feel we’ve fallen the furthest, that closeness to Jesus makes all the difference.⛪️ . So.
