Don't know what to call these... Sourdough pretzel bagels, maybe? These are a first iteration of a soft pretzel that met a bagel. They are soft yet chewy, and oh so fluffy but still perfect with whichever filling they receive. . They were boiled in a mix of water and baked baking soda. I would never trust myself around lye as I am the clumsiest person ever. But the best thing is they taste like 90% close to the real deal! . A little cheeky egg white made its way to the dough because I have way too many of them left from ice cream making. Working out on how to use them all, so ideas are very welcome! . This morning we went out for brunch and coffee at one of our favorite cafes in town and I had the yummiest sandwich. I got a turkey club (turkey + tomatoes + lettuce + mayo + usually bacon) on a toasted everything bagel and it was exactly what I needed this morning. I was planning on getting a sausage and egg on a bagel, but right when I got in line I decided to get this sandwich. Also, I had such a yummy flavor of iced coffee inspired by Tyler of course which was strawberry cheesecake. He always said strawberry coffee would be good and I doubted him, but once I tried it last summer it became one of my favorites.
