Har lite tur med flaskorna: Rampollas Chianti andas löddrig häst och latrin direkt från plopp och backar dessutom upp det djuriska med surkörsbär och alla kasserade läderbälten från hela norra Norrlands inland sedan uppsamlingen startade 1973. Roddolos barbera måste vara en av de bästa i klassen, och med ålderns rätt förmanar den beblandad med pesto och balsamico likt gammelsmurf själv till lugn och kontemplation. Så utomordentligt rustik och elegant på samma gång! Ledordet är pizza, och dolcetto är som bekant bästa kompis med allt upptänkligt som kan rymmas på en ugnsuppvärmd bit deg. Fy fasiken vilken balanserad fruktleverans från Brovia! Utan direkta mognadstoner men med förfinad precision och världsvant lugn briljerar den under kvällen i var mans och kvinnas glas! Hur det gick till vet jag inte, men det blev tydligen lite kvar av Massolinos Margheria 2007. I loooove Barbera!!! ❤️ Brilliant and intense ruby red color, very typical perfumes of red fruits and spices. Round in the mouth with a pleasant balance between acidity and tannin. Barbera d'Asti Superiore La Vigna Vecchia Docg 2015 is a characteristic version of this variety, so generous in expressing its native land. I met @cossetti_winery during Vinitaly but I absolutely want to visit this nice winery. Warm welcome and good wines are two excellent reasons to discover much more about a producer . Food pairing? After the end of the Second World War, the Piedmont region was planted with 80% Barbara grapes. Many of the vines has since been replaced by the noble Nebbiolo grape, and the Barbara has been left with the label of a lesser grape. However some producers are convinced that Barbara can be more than just a simple lunch wine, and resent years has shown signs of a renaissance. Aldo Conterno belongs to one of those in faith of the grape. His vineyard "Conca Tre Pile" has a the privilege of being in the well known Bussia cru, and the vines has an average of 45 years. . . The bouquet opens up with beautiful opulent notes of black cherry, gooseberries, vanilla oak, cinnamon, topsoil and minerality. The palete is super well balanced with a vibrant medium plus acidity to match the huge amount of fruit. It is full bodied with lovely chewy and fully integrated tannins. It has notes black berries, dark bitter chocolate, coffee, lots of spices and a long complex finish. I left the rest of the bottle, and it was even better the next day. Many Barbara wines are to this day irrelevant, but this is certainly not one of them! This is a great wine with a ageing potential beyond a decade. . .
