Following on from yesterday's recipe share, I wanted to pause on the whole BBQ'd lemon halves step. Even if you're not making my basil chicken recipe, grilled lemon halves are so good. The heat loosens the fruit and helps release their juices, making them perfect to spritz your hot chargrilled vegetables, chicken or salmon. The chargrill adds an extra depth to the sour flavor which is just delicious. And if you're using meyer lemons, you'll find yourself with a sweeter juice to top your delicious dish. Use a pastry brush to apply a small amount of olive oil, sprinkle the fruit side with sea salt if you wish, and leave them on the grill until charred. Wagyu Skirt, Charred Pepper Pesto, Spanish Onion & Homemade Brioche. . . . Wagyu skirt steak from @thehomeoflownslow, charred pepper pesto, topped it off with some jalapeno salt from @whites_valley_jalapenos & a few cheeky drops of @savage_hombre chilli oil. I also forgot the kewpie haha. If you can't tell by now I adore having some spice to my food. Another thing I love doing is cooking for my kids, so after recently mastering French bread rolls I though brioche was worth a shot. Not terrible, needs improvement but I'm gonna call it rustic.
