Today's #sunsurfseaglass challenge is #beachmystery - I have never figured out what this chunky multi used to be. I think it may be UV too! Found in Scotland - anyone got any ideas? @beachcombingmagazine
I am sadly absolutely hopeless at keeping up with insta-challenges, but huge thanks to @marytmccarthy & @surfersusie66 for hosting! You guys are amazing.
It’s Beach Mystery day for #sunsurfseaglass so I played my own sea pottery mystery game again! ☺️ Tiny pieces of pattern made whole again with a little watercolor & imagination. This piece has a slightly curved gray line in it which made me think it was part of a circular pattern so I just went with it! Maybe a pattern around a tea cup or plate? Who knows?! It’s a #beachmystery Happy Sunday!

So...happy day 9 ( #stackerday obvious ) and 10 ( #beachmystery because I don't know the origin of my glass float as there is no maker's mark ) of #sunsurfseaglass w/ @marytmccarthy & @surfersusie66 .

AND YES, I said "my glass float"
ALMOST as good as finding one myself, is getting one as a gift ☺️ My brother came back from one of the neighboring islands this morning. I picked him up from the airport around 5am barely conscious. As I was preparing to enter the main road out of the airport, he asks, "Do you want to know your future?" I turn to look at him with this face (because it's 5am and I'm not in the mood for ANYTHING) and he's holding up this float! That woke me up quick! Jaja Thanks baby bro!

Day 10: #beachmystery
Theses 8 items have been or are still a bit of a mystery for me. The first picture of course is a skull but I’m at a loss for what type of animal (It was located near a place called “Goat Island” but I don’t think it is that. Picture 2 is part of a lobster shell I think; picture 3 is a piece of an old eye dropper (I’ve seen some posted from people in mainland Japan). The rest may just be decorative ceramic or glass pieces but it would be cool to know what they originally were. Any ideas #beachcombing #beachcombingmagazine
Day 10 of #sunsurfseaglass has its own hashtag! It’s #beachmystery day and I want to thank @beachcombingmagazine because when @surfersusie66 and I wrote the prompts for today, Kirsti was kind enough to use her pro magazine-publishing skillz to make the challenge prompts grid look good for us and choose today’s cool prompt too! Check out the magazine page today for details about their best #beachmystery finds contest! Can’t wait to see which ones from today end up in print! As for mine, well, found in NY recently, I have been calling it the “Sea Glass Illuminati” piece since I found it. If children’s plastic beach shovels came in UV glass I’d say it was a handle piece. ❇️
it’s day 10 of the #sunsurfseaglass photo challenge and the theme is #beachmystery ♀️ - for me, every single thing I find on the beach is a mystery - mostly because I catch myself often wondering: how did this get here? who was the last human who touched it? was it discarded intentionally / consciously? or was it lost by accident? how many people SAW it with their own eyes but didn’t pick it up? sometimes it’s fun to fill in the blanks, but for the most part… I’ll never know the extent of the individual journey each thing has endured
Hmm ...wonder what this is Very smooth, maybe shell or bone, exact size of a quarter, pieces of sand stuck on holes? Day 10 #sunsurfseaglass challenge is #beachmystery
Thank you @marytmccarthy @surfersusie66 and @beachcombingmagazine #beachfinds #beachtreasures #beachcomber #treasurehunter @fossilsabg maybe you can help solve some of our beach mysteries?
Today’s #sunsurfseaglass ☀️♀️ challenge from @marytmccarthy and @surfersusie66 is #beachmystery and we can’t wait to see everyone’s biggest mysteries! Speaking of biggest, it’s hard to find a bigger beachcombing mystery than this 275-pound piece (lit with a blue light—it’s actually clear!) that Lynne and Larry Brady found on the beach in Lake Erie. They have tried to find out what it is, but no luck yet! Do you know? If so, post your answer below. You can read all about Lynne and Larry’s find in the next issue of the magazine and see the glass giant in person at the Great Lakes Beach Glass Festival in Erie on May 4-5th. And, check out all the other mysteries posted today with the hashtag #beachmystery and see if you can help their owners figure out what they’ve found, too! We will post the best ones in an upcoming issue of the magazine! #seaglass #beachglass #beachcombing #mysteryonthebeach
I found this piece a while ago, but I have never been able to ID it. The embossed scene has always fascinated me because of its mysterious ancient vibe—perfect for Day 10 of the #sunsurfseaglass photo challenge #beachmystery. Thanks and shoutouts to our wonderful hostesses @marytmccarthy and @surfersusie66 for organizing this March madness and @beachcombingmagazine for sponsoring today’s prompt. #seaglass #seaglasslove #beachcombingfinds #seaglassaddict #beachcombing #seaglasshunting #seaglasshunter #seaglasslover #seaglasscollector #seaglasscollection #beachcombingaddict #beachtreasures #embossedseaglass
