Throwback Thursday: These filmmakers from @natgeo traveled to Nepal to experience the last traditional honey hunters. The men from the Kulung culture harvest psychotropic honey that is guarded by the world’s largest honeybees. #morethanhoney || @renan_ozturk and @m_synnott || Full story on our page (link in bio).
Bees inside a chimney incase anyone wonders what that looks like! Check the old honey comb, this whole chimney smelled like a beehive, no surprise bees moved back in. I do NOT recommend anyone attempting this unless they know what they are getting into. ftw!

I'm not a big fan of posting myself. It's not about me, its about the bees. In this case, none of the other photos did this hive justice. Good lordy this thing was massive! Aaaaand about 35' up. (Thank you boy scout skills!) Unfortunately they needed to move, the tree needed to be trimmed :/

Hello I have some news about natural make-up to show you, and I can't wait! Soon you will know more and, staying on the subject, I'm introducing to you now the lip balms from @kissofabee that I presented to you in a previous post; this time I'll show you the COFFEE version! Yes, you understood well, my dear caffeinated friends! ☕
The coffee used is an high quality type, coming from the Colombian highlands, and it's hand-treated, along with other precious ingredients, for the creation of these lip balms! .
Driven by passion, the Australian beekeeper Mark, sustainably treats his bees, and has chosen to handcraft these lip balms #madeinaustralia, totally natural and based on their composition of natural beeswax (protective, emollient and nourishing) and the addition of vitamin E plus high quality essential oils!
.
What strikes me about these lipbalms is the care and commitment that Mark puts into production, from the choice of the ingredients to even the hand-cut label! ❤
The new fragrance of the coffee-flavored lip balms is the result of a meticulous hand procedure! . • Mark first infuses the coffee in organic coconut oil over low heat for 6 hours, and then for another 12 hours to cool down. • Then filter everything slowly with the paper filter, taking about 4 hours • Combines with coconut oil and beeswax .
• The result is a moisturizing lip balm with a pleasant and delicate coffee aroma, never annoying but immediately recognizable from the application! The scent is crazy fabuolous and personally gives me a charge of energy just smelling it! For true coffee aroma lovers it's Heaven! .
For those who do not particularly appreciate coffee, these lipbalms exist in other fragrances such as vanilla, coconut and lemon myrthle (similar to lemongrass), so I recommend you to visit Mark's Etsy page, the creator of @kissofabee:

@hinterlandbees
Every time we do a big beehive removal at @hinterlandbees our clients are usually completely stunned at not only how many bees are in a hive but how much honey has been packed away in the their ceiling or wall.
Unfortunately some people, not really knowing their options when they discover a beehive in their home call in pest controllers to kill the bees. Fortunately more and more pest controllers are turning this work away and leaving it to beekeepers to deal with the “problem”.
The “problem” most people see are the bees but the “problem” they should be more concerned about is just how much honey is actually packed away.
READ OUR STORY “HOW BIG CAN A BEEHIVE GET?”. LINK IN BIO ↖
What happens to all that honey if the hive is poisoned? Well you are dealing with a messy disaster! After a coupe of months the old hive is infested with small hive beetle who infest the the honey stores with a yeast that ferments the honey and turns it to an awful slime, the wax cappings break down and gravity makes sure the slime does the most possible damage, destroying ceilings and wall linings. The remaining wax is then destroyed by wax moth, cockroaches and ants. At the end of that process a new colony of bees moves in to start the whole process over again!
The alternative is to get a beekeeper to do the job right, save the bees, remove all the honey and fill the cavity with insulation so more bees can’t move back in. SWEET
