I’ve been having “pinch me” moments with these two for a solid couple of weeks now. ••• don’t get me wrong, I’m always thankful and lucky and happy and grateful. But lately, we’ve turned a corner. Maybe it’s having only one in diapers for over a year, maybe it’s finally being a one nap family after 3.5 years of being home for every. Single. Nap. Maybe it’s the age, or that they can easily entertain themselves and that my heart sings like no other song when I hear them making each other laugh. ••• yes, we’ve had tantrums, from all three of us. Yes, there has been days that I count down the minutes until bedtime. But what is most important to focus on is how lucky we are. Our love for each other. Us being a team. Our little family is perfect and it’s perfectly mine. ••• In the difficult moments of being a mom, trust me, there are plenty, remember this post and to focus on the good. Sometimes I just saw out loud how lucky we all are to have two working arms and legs. I always tell the kids how lucky our life is and that we are extremely fortunate. Another reason I love this age is Leo copies everything that Madrid does and Madrid repeats what she hears. She said to Leo this week, “we are so lucky for this house. It’s like a dream come true.” ••• I wish they had a clue how happy they make me.
