I’m super happy this Friday evening so I thought to share a little love with this oh so sweet #loveyourselfmandala heart design by @thefibrelounge . Such a fun sweet pattern made to bring sweetness to mental health month. I ended up making it in one sitting; and also adding some bp stitches and a little darling stitch edging. Now I just have to come up with what I should do with it. Thinking of maybe adding it to a bag, frame it or turning it in to a wall hanging perhaps? What are your ideas? . Today the ☀️ has been shining, the kids (mostly) happy, the tea perfectly warm and I’ve even had some crochet time on top of it all, whoop whoop. This weekend sure starts out great. . #AmiguruMAY Day 13: Top Tip I think my best tip is to spend a lot of time on the little faces you’re making. Really take the time to pin things like ears into place. Hold the piece away from you a bit to make sure it looks right. Work towards getting good symmetry with eyes and anything else that should be symmetrical. This all sounds obvious, but sometimes because of the placement of the stitches, it can be tough! But it’s worth it. The more noses you embroider, the better you are. The more ears you attach, the better they look, and so on. I still see little flaws when I look at faces I’ve done, like this little guy, because it’s never going to be perfect, but it gets a lot more fun over time. Extra tips: Use the invisible decrease and watch some videos on how to use the whip stitch to attach pieces together. Day 14 of #AmiguruMay is Fave Pattern! Ryan and I have designed many amigurumi throughout the years and it’s so hard to choose a favourite! These three hold a special place in my heart (all are free patterns on my blog): Dragon: this was one of our earlier designs, and he got featured in some magazines! Many people discovered our work because of this little guy, and I love his scaled belly, wings, horns and little fang! Lamb: I love the combination of fuzzy yarn with regular yarn, and his expression is just so cute! We named him Lambert and loved his design so much that we made an entire collection of apparel and items based on him called @thelambertcollection ! Dog: We used a special technique of fuzzing up yarn with a dog slicker brush to get this felted look! The fur looks so realistic and he is unlike any other amigurumi! ▪️ Which one of our amigurumi designs is your favourite? Is there one that you’ve made multiples of?
