What a view! @farmstandrevival ‘s Featured Farm:

“Tap o’ Noth Farm is a small CSA market farm run by James and Rosa. It’s situated at the foot of Tap o’ Noth hill, in rural Aberdeenshire. We farm ecologically grown vegetables for a weekly veg box and raise free range chickens for eggs. We also keep two British Toggenburg goats for our home dairy needs.
By using agroecological methods and permaculture design principles, we are creating an agricultural landscape that functions as close to a natural ecosystem as possible.
This allows us to remove the need for using synthetic chemicals and produce yields of fresh, natural food in a way that has little negative impact on the environment and welfare of our animals.
Farming in this way actually helps to have a positive impact on our environment by regenerating soils, sequestering carbon, encouraging wildlife habitat and being pretty amazing for the people associated with the farm too.” Aberdeenshire, Scotland : @tapfarm

We are buttoning it UP this year! I’m TIRED of weeding, and do not have time for such things anymore! I have always wanted to do this, and was encouraged to do so by the @living_traditions YouTube channel this year. I’m SO glad i found them - So much knowledge there!!! So we bought the @growerssolution weed fabric, staples and drip watering systems to put into place on our 10 one hundred ft row garden! We got the rows all nice and purdy this past weekend, (and by we, I mean @joshsliffe!) added a whole buncha composted bunny , and are putting in the final touches now, as we cover each row, and then will add in our drip systems once the rows are done. I am SO excited about this growing season guys and it starts this WEEKEND!(it should have started like... 5 weekends ago, but hey were just glad to have about two weeks left of spring planting time before summer crops can start going in!) there will be an embarrassingBefore and After photo to come, with more details on this HUGE project, so stay tuned, and you can also catch up on my Instagram stories, which will end up in my highlights under 2019 garden! I’m SO excited!!!! Oh and we left a couple rows un-covered for Potatoes, which I’ll do the same way i did last year, cause it worked out so great that way! Oh and isn’t my son the freaking cutest?! You can hear the noise he’s making in my storieshe does it all day every day#bluewhistlerfarm
We got our taters in today!!! It’s only my second year growing them, so I don’t consider myself an expert at ALLLLL, but a few of you asked how I do it, so here ya go! Oh and I do it pretty much the exact way it says to on the bagjust a few differentials. I cut my potatoes a few days in advance - at least one eye per cut, and let them get a bit of a skin on those cuts. Then we dig a trench 6-8” deep, and add (I’m tellin y’all, that’s the only reason we have anything grow!). Lay the taters down 12” apart, and cover with one side of the trench, then once sprouted, cover those with the other side. Then mulch heavvvvily with straw/hay. I then just keep mulching with hay when i see tubers coming up out of the ground. Never letting the sun hit them. Then I harvest once the plants are dead! Last year I planted 15lbs, and harvested 150lbs! It was awesome!! Not sure if that’ll happen again, but sure hoping so! Oh and this year we’ll be adding drip lines! How do you grow your spuds? #bluewhistlerfarm
A formal garden we did near London in the grounds of a Tudor manor house. Smart topiary but lots of frothy flowers too
