This has been a theme in conversations with multiple friends this week. It might sound cliche, but the truth is, things are always happening behind the scenes that we can’t possibly see on the surface. I went through a terrible breakup last year that at the time felt like the end of the world. Little did I know it would actually turn out to be the catalyst for me getting to a stronger, healthier, & happier place than I’ve been in years. During the midst of that breakup, my then-therapist up and decided he needed to fulfill his lifelong dream of hiking the Appalachian Trail. I was like BUT WHAT ABOUT ME CAN’T YOU PLAN YOUR LIFE AROUND MY CRISIS?! Little did I know that the therapist he referred me to was an anxiety specialist who would be the best therapist I’ve ever had and help me have breakthrough after breakthrough. When I was 25, I lost what I thought was my “dream job” at the hands of some very cruel people. My career as a tv producer ended abruptly and was never revived and I was completely heartbroken. Little did I know that my career BEHIND the camera had to end so my career IN FRONT OF the camera could begin More lifelong career dreams have been realized in the 15 years since my “dream job” ended than I can count on two hands! All this to say...what looks like the end is never really the end. It’s often the beginning of a whole new book, new life, new YOU. Trust that when things are falling apart it’s so better things can fall together. Someday it really WILL all make sense. You can’t see it now...but your someday is coming. So cling to that, and carry on.
