#BOATREFLOAT Back Pon Di Side Hu$tle Mi G __________ Dis 35' sailboat sunk in the #SouthRiver creek after small snow storm passed through last week. Wi wanted to use inflatable air bags to bring this baby back to surface or some Liftbags could do... Wi had neither of the above. So, guess wah? wi jus improvise wid some ropes, a pump and some techniques. Yes Mi G ___________ The boat had fallen onto its side after it sank. (It titaniced to be quite frank). Firstly, We tied a rope to the halyard and went onto an adjacent dock. We used the leverage from the top of the mast to pull the boat vertical. We then tied 2 dock-lines on both the starboard and port of the boat and secured to the pilings to keep the boat stable. (Our God is able ). A Gang-plank (gang gang) was placed on the dock to the boat so I could climb aboard with a pump to slowly empty out the water. Massa, I had to immerse myself in water barely above freezing in the cock-pit. Even with a wet-suit on, it was bitterly cold But, the leak was so bad the pump was ineffective. I searched around for an outboard motor that had been stored below, but I couldn’t find it in the murky water... mi hand dem did a freeze - (dwag me did cwold) Fortunately, the wind and tide lowered the water level enough to empty the boat where we could reach in and locate the source of the leak. (And then I heard the Angels speak ). We worked quickly to fix a leaking through-hole fitting so that when the tide came back in, the boat re-floated. REFLOATED!!! The boat looks like it cut up for scrap but personally I think she's sturdy & still great for sailing!
