Tennis Elbow? Carpal Tunnel? Arthritis? Tendonitis? Pain in your forearm from using a computer all day? This is an area people frequently experience pain due to overuse.

In our experience a little scraping of the tissue can give some great results. You may hear the term Gua Sha being used- it’s a similar concept. Same with Graston and similar goals behind use of Theragun and other tissue manipulation tools. These are all methods of IASTM (Instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization), and there are many others as well. The idea is to mobilize the tissues and break down the scar tissue and fascial restrictions to promote a better healing environment for the soft tissue.

We have found the back side of a butter knife (dull side) with some coconut oil to be a great, easy and fast way to accomplish this without costing much money, if any. (Most people have these on hand- and any oil or lotion would work). Use common sense- don’t use a sharp knife or cut yourself! Better yet check out MyoGrip. .
.
We love the @myogrip tool for this. It’s not necessary but it’s very nice to use. It allows a nice firm grip without hurting your hands and allows you to add some great pressure behind it. DIGESTIVE 101 • this is a little trick I use personally and share with receivers often in cases of:
- over-indulgence - bloating after eating
- indigestion
- tummy bugs
- continuous appetite
- recurring nausea
.
Instructions:
Using your hands stimulate the length of the underside of your cheekbone. “Walk” your thumbs from nose to ear and / or massage with your fingertips for two finger-widths underneath the bone. Pressure is medium to aid our exploration. .
If you discover any smaller area that feels especially pleasant / painful / presents an unusual sensation of any kind - stay there with circular motions and a light pressure for 10 seconds. Then continue. Work this way as often as desired throughout the day.
These areas of the face correspond to your gastric and hepatic systems. Simple touch by you here sends an energetic signal to your nervous system requesting rebalance. Use daily for consistent results.

Like that knee in the back move? Tag a friend who you will NOT be doing that to. They can learn a great alternative instead. All you need is a rack and a barbell. *Dr. Mike is a trained professional- seriously don’t do this*
Position the J hooks at about knee height. Place the bar on the hooks securely. With feet firmly planted on the ground lean your back over the bar. Using a light dumbell over head will allow you to get some extension in the thoracic spine.
This can be a nice way to get a little more movement in the thoracic spine and to counteract that rounded forward position we spend so much of our day in. You are likely to feel a lot of stretching with this. Explore your body and pay attention where your tight areas are.
Be gentle with this. Go slowly. Use common sense. If the bar is too much pressure or too firm wrap a yoga mat around it or do this on a padded bench or a wall ball. Move up and and down gradually paying attention to areas of sensation and areas where movement is restricted. At each interval take a nice deep breath and focus on getting 360 degree expansion into the rib cage. You want to feel the breath in the sides, front and back of the ribs!

⬇️Do you have chronic back pain? ⬇️Feel like something is stabbing you? It’s unlikely that you are walking around with a knife in your back, but it can certainly feel as if that’s the case. PSA: If you ACTUALLY have a foreign object stabbing you, get the hell off Instagram and seek medical care immediately you giant dummy! Back pain is incredibly common. Tag someone you know who is feeling like the photo above!
When someone experiences pain the body reacts both physically and mentally. On a physical level, pain may cause the heart rate to go up, blood pressure to increase, maybe even some sweating. Some people’s breathing patterns will change to shallow chest breaths. Mentally, their thoughts may jump to worst-case scenarios with the pain, how they are going to manage to do their jobs or care for their families, what their futures will be like, etc. These two cycles can feed into one another and really send a person spiraling out of control.
So what can you do? Be mindful of how you are feeling, of the sensations in your body. Understand that while chronic pain can feel like an acute emergency it typically is not. It’s very unlikely that any pain you are feeling is an immediate threat to your body. It’s a message that you need to make some improvements. It’s the way your body can speak to you. That’s it. It’s not attacking you.
Speak back to the pain. Take some time and find a comfortable and quiet area to relax. Focus on taking some long, slow, deep breaths. Calm your mind and focus on the present. Stop fighting the pain. Just focus on breathing. Do this for at least a few minutes. Repeat as many times throughout the day as necessary. And ultimately… Fix yo Shit! The MoveU Forever Fix program is an amazing option!
