I always thought working from home was the dream. Come to find out... it's lonely AF and the dogs don't understand when I ask for advice. I don't have coworkers complimenting my outfits or hair and honestly I forget to shower more often then I'd like to admit... some days I forget to eat until it's too late and I'm hangry. . . I forget to brush my teeth until noon if at all. Some days the house is a complete mess and I want to cry because I have to look at it all day. The dogs bark at every person walking by and it's really distracting (and annoying) and my work days are sometimes 12 hours long‍♀️ . . I might be alone here, but the work/life balance being: Self employed and working from home is a hell of a lot harder than I thought and I'm struggling to find a balance for myself but I'm working on it. #workinprogress That's my Tuesday thought. outfit is @senita and I feel like a queen in it

Navigate! July has been a month of retrospective time, obstacles and challenges. Many of my clients say they have been stuck or triggered. Old patterns start to creep in. We all know how annoying and irritating it can be. The truth is that the Universe is cyclic. You can be in the perfect flow and then it changes. Hating these slow and retrograde phases doesn’t help! You’ll get stuck even more. My way of dealing with it is actually to slow down and listen. I ask myself what is in the flow right now. I ask my body what feels good to do. I ask myself how I want to be loved. Moving my body and doing something physical always helps me. My personal life and business is all about embodiment. So when I feel stuck and the energy doesn’t flow I shut down my laptop and take a break. I go on a bike ride or do Breathwork. It doesn’t help pushing something that doesn’t move. Things get even worse. Electronics fails. Messages are not delivered. It is always better to step back, connect with the body and create some space. When we change the energy within external stuff fixes itself and we come back to the flow. Enjoy all seasons and phases. Navigate!

I am the queen of mistakes, I make mistakes while working out and get injured at times. I make mistakes rushing and getting a speeding ticket‍♂️. I make mistakes on my grocery list and have to make another trip in the same day. I make mistakes with my health and over eat. AND one time I made the mistake of deleting a podcast right after recording it (sorry @weeknightbite!) it felt like failure... I even cried but I learned from it and ended up re-recording it with her and it turned out 10x better!  Let's be honest, in the moment mistakes feel like failure. but the real truth about mistakes, WE ALL MAKE THEM and 9/10 times we learn from them so they really result in personal change and improvement. This week's series has seemed like it's been challenging for a lot of folks- Author #MichelleLelwica proposes that culturally, thinness is now our church: Worshipping thinness gives us idols, grants us rituals, and provides us a structure that holds guilt and allow us to earn "goodness". . . . In this context, naming the wisdom of bodies is blasphemy. I'm ok with being a heretic when what I get to call people to is a life in which the body is not an enemy, food is not a weapon, and creative energy is absorbed not in pursuit of a thigh gap, but invested in creating justice, homes of safety and hospitality, intimacy, art, policy, brave and empathic little humans, nourishing meals, businesses, etc, etc, etc. . . . This recommendation is based on the link demonstrated in research between food scarcity (whether self imposed or a result of external factors) and overeating/binge episodes.
