Alfie Bradley, an artist who created a towering angel made from 100,000 confiscated knives, hopes to bring his sculpture to London after its success in other UK cities. Knife Angel stands at 27 feet and was built over two years with blades collected from knife banks around the country. Knives used to craft the angel’s wings have been engraved with messages from families of victims. Having seen the “massive impact” the sculpture has had in other places, Bradley wants his symbol against violence and aggression to be seen in the capital. “London has always been top of the agenda because knife crime has got absolutely ridiculous,” he says.
