The devastation is paramount for many this morning. Navigating home from the safety of my parents, it broke every bit of my heart. People out surveying the damage, working through fallen trees, and scavenging through what’s left of their things. This has been the reality for so many time and time again in other parts of our country or world, but this morning it’s right here. The light shining through the clouds this morning is the beauty of the human condition. People were waving others on, preferring each other at broken stop lights, and pausing so another could turn around or make it around downed power lines and snapped trees. Smiles were exchanged, nods of understanding and connection. Guys, we just come together when we have to, don’t we. Celebrating that today, as we move to help those who have lost so much. We stand with you. .
So many options to donate and help.
Locally to @refinedpurveyorsoffinegoods : accepting donations for bottled water and grab-n-go snacks at Arcon Builders, 7824 alt st rt 49, Arcanum for the rest of the week. Donations will be taken to Dayton Food Bank, Call Ministries in Celina, Brookville Fire Department, and more as the need arises. .
Thank you. Love you. Thank you again.
Such a nice day to grill out ... Too bad my grill got mangled by the tornado. .
.
.
It was attached to our house gas line, so it was like a balloon during the tornado ... flying up into the air, slammed into our house and ripped a gash into our siding before landing on the other side of our garden fence.
.
.
I know we are super lucky & blessed to be alive after that EF4 tore through our neighborhood ... with minimal damage to our house, fencing, & deck items. It's scary how close we were to that monster.
.
.
We tried to find whatever missiled into our roof but found nothing in the attic ... Thinking it tore into the roof and then got yanked back out.

It’s devastating and miraculous all at once, so much destruction yet thankfully no loss of life or major injuries. When I meet new people, and they ask me where I’m from I say Brookville, and even though I only lived there through Highschool its what I consider my hometown. And when you’re hometown needs help, you do what you can and today I went to help and I’m glad I did and made a small dent in all the work that’s to be done. All the people helping from labor to passing out food and water was really inspiring. I didn’t know where to start coming in alone so I just started at the first house I saw and went from there. Today really taught me, when a community comes together there’s nothing they can’t do.
