Those days that are remarkably amazing & you say “thank you” over and over again. It’s already into Tuesday and I’m reflecting on an amazing Monday. Stayed up late because I had the opportunity to speak to a women who has profoundly supported and encouraged me to pursue my passions and dreams. Working in healthcare for almost a decade managing hospital operations - I knew this was what I always wanted. I stopped working for what I was against - and started working towards what I believed. I asked specifically for female mentors and coaches when moving to Seattle from Columbus, Ohio 7 years ago - yet I had no idea what I was going to get! Growing @peachesfiguresalon yet so excited to see my #peaches shrink! Heheheee Our community time and depth as a team has been expanding. It’s been remarkable to see these women progress in so many elements of their lives. Today was a day - that all made sense. I was put here to do this. A woman who wants to find ways to get psychological understanding out of the therapy room and text books and into your lives. I have been doing this on Instagram since April 2018 and it has been quite a ride. ⠀ .⠀ ..⠀ .⠀ I want to share with you that you are ok. That experiencing distress and emotions is normal. That you are not alone in these feelings even though it feels like it. I want to share with you that the messages you have been fed since birth about who you are, how you should act and who deserves love and care are untrue (unless you believe all people are worthy as they are - in that case can we all grow up where you grew up!). I want to show you that you are surrounded by people who fear the same things as you and feel the same things as you. And show you that there are small steps you can take to reclaim your feelings of calm, centeredness, worthiness and maybe even pride! .⠀ ..⠀ .⠀ Admittedly, no amount of breathing exercises or self-soothing is going to change the societal structures that cause the pain in the first place (such as abuse, racism, patriarchy, poverty, and other forms of pressure and oppression).
