Is your hip mobility holding you back on your lifts?!
.
Check this!
.
This banded mobility drill is awesome for nailing the hip flexors .
Use a mat to make comfortable ‼️
.
Tight quads and hip flexors can really hinder the bottom end of your big lifts like:
♂️ Squats.
♂️ Lunges.
♂️ Bulgarian Split Squats.
♂️ Hip Thrusters.
.
This will help pack more punch through a large arc of movement through these compound lifts!
.
Again a real favourite because:
✔️ Highly effective.
✔️ Portable!
✔️ Only 1 band needed!
.
Reps
Try clusters of 30 secs with a PNF/MET hold for 10 secs to really get it moving.
And repeat 2-3 times.
.
Remember ‼️‼️ large amounts of static stretching reduces ballistic strength so try and fit these outside of your major lift days!
.
We find these work amazingly with rehabilitation of: .
Sportman’s Hernia (late).
Quad strain (late).
Femoral Acetabular Impingement.
’Lower across Syndrome’.
Mechanical Back Pain.
Hip surgery (replacement/ resurfacement).

Some education and exercises for hip bursitis. This is a common misdiagnosis as a true primary hip bursitis is uncommon. The most common cause for lateral hip pain is gluteal tendon pain. A great starting point for people who can’t tolerate multiple repetitions with resistance is isometric contractions. Isometrics have two benefits: pain reduction (analgesic effect) as well as the highest level of muscle fiber recruitment. Eccentric exercises are also a reasonable exercise choice but have the lowest amount of muscle control! Enjoy and share the knowledge! #evidenceintraining #physiotherapy #physicaltherapy #hippain #bursitis #hipbursitis #rehab #prehab #reconditioning
♀️♀️What does a remedial therapist do when they get sore ♀️♀️
.
Oh... well I’m glad you asked
Along with trying to do regular swaps for remedial massage, I also have to do some self treatment at home .... I mostly do it while I’m watching tv
.
With previously having a history of shoulder issues and bursitis, I now seem to keep it mostly at bay by strengthening any weakness around the shoulder with weight training. This has helped dramatically, but occasionally I experience some tenderness and referral through the front of my shoulder/ down the deltoid and bicep
.
Here are a few muscles I like to focus on with either a spikey ball, or tennis ball against a wall
.
1️⃣ Infraspinatus and Teres- these muscles lie over the scapula and attach into the humerus. Both can refer pain into the shoulder and down the arm ⚡️
2️⃣ Rhomboids and middle Trapezius- these muscles can refer pain around the shoulder blade and top of shoulder/ neck
3️⃣ & 4️⃣ Pectoralis major and minor- can refer pain to anterior shoulder, chest and down the arm ⚡️
.
NOTE- as you can see I use up and down, and also side to side movements to try to break down different angles of tight muscle fibers/ myofascial tissue. If you find a spot that’s quite sore, hold the ball on that spot for a while. Once it’s eased off, roll around and over that spot until the muscle feels warm and less painful to touch
.
Ps- excuse the facial expressions and the fact that I’m in my own world watching

#EAT #babybokchoy sautéed in garlic with a little bit of olive oil and a little pink Himalayan salt. I eat a lot of cruciferous veggies like broccoli, cauliflower, bok Choy, cabbage, kale, Brussels sprouts, arugula, and it’s no secret just how healing #cruciferousvegetables are in healing cancer bc they are anti-cancerous and healing viruses that cause our #autoimmunedisease like MS celiac EDS skinrashes eczema psoriasis gravesdisease Diabetes hepatitis bc they are also antiviral. You can find many studies done that showed cruciferous veggies helped reduce tumors in patients sample size. It also helps to heal #thyroid. Garlic is the same thing anti-cancer, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, and anti-viral and is one of the oldest medicinal foods that also heightens the taste of almost everything you cook it with. So to put these two together makes a powerful healing food for #cancer #tumors #digestion #rheumatoidarthritis #lupus #COPD #lymedisease #shingles #bursitis #CFS #fibromyalgia #candida #foodpoisoning #herpes #coronaryarterydisease (Hubby) #stroke (my mother) #colds UTI and weak immune systems. What’s also amazing about garlic is that it pulls lead and other heavy metals out of the body. It also lowers cholesterol and blood pressure. Hope you find this helpful on your journey as it has helped me to heal #medicalmedium
Diabetes mellitus mal controlada.
Hemartrosis.
Prótesis u osteosíntesis.
Embarazo.
Haber realizado infiltraciones previas sin efectos beneficiosos.

This is one of my favorite drills when rehabbing somebody's hip
-
This drill works many areas at once, including:
✔Hip abd range of motion
✔Adductor mobility
✔Glute medius strength
✔Lumbopelvic control
-
The most important thing during this exercise is that all of the motion should come from the hip, and none from the low back
-
I have used this drill when treating many different conditions, including groin pain, adductor strains, glute tendinopathy, "bursitis," IT band pain, low back pain etc
-
Make sure to follow me for more rehab, prehab, and performance information!

Proud of myself for getting this far along. This time last year I was unable to stand or walk unassisted and thought I'd never walk normal or dance again. But here I am. Getting stronger and regaining muscle in my legs and losing weight from laying around bc of my health conditions. Gotta keep pushing through . If you tell yourself you can't you won't. #hipdysplasiaawareness #hipdysplasia #bursitis #fibromyalgia #degenerativediscdisease #chiarimalformation #neuropathy #autoimmunedisease #osteoarthritis #pushthrough #challengeyourself #wonderwoman
Hip Bursitis

❤️ TAG or SHARE this post with someone who could benefit from STRONG HIPS and GLUTES
-
Hip bursitis, also called "Greater Trochanteric Burisitis", is a diagnosis that attempts to describe pain or discomfort at the outside of the hip, located directly over or around the bony protrusion that is located here
-
However, in most cases, the problem is not with the bursae (fluid filled sacs the help provide a cushion between tendon and bone), but with the irritated tendons of the gluteus medius and gluteus minimus muscles that connect near here
-
So, a more accurate diagnosis would be "Gluteal Tendinopathy". And we know that with tendinopathies, modifying aggravating activities, including repetitive movements or prolonged positions, as well as load management (including intensity, frequency, and duration of activities) are keys to appropriate recovery
-
Once tolerated, it's important to build up the tensile strength and load tolerance of the muscles and tendons involved, in this case the lateral glutes (located on the outside of the hip)
-
Today's post will demonstrate some practical progressions to do this, using the laws of physics and a resistance band. Simple but effective.
-
In order, they are:
-
1) Clamshell - Bodyweight
2) Clamshell - with Band
3) Hip Abduction - Knee Bent - Bodyweight
4) Hip Abduction - Knee Bent - with Band
5) Hip Abduction - Knee Straight - Bodyweight
6) Hip Abduction - Knee Straight - Band at Knees
7) Hip Abduction - Knee Straight - Band at Feet
-
It's okay to have tolerable pain in the hip during the exercises, but it should fade back to your baseline quickly (within 1-2 hours), and should not be increased the next day
-
Try them out and let know if you have any questions!
