Originally, the assignment was to create a character from The Tempest with the concept design of futurism. I chose to do retrofuturism and eventually I created a cyberpunk version of the Tempest, in which the "new world" becomes the old world and Prospero is abandoned in a deteriorating New York. Instead of being a magician, he is a genious and he created the Ariel, who is an Artificial Intelligence. Most characters have replaced parts of their bodies with superior electronic and mechanical prosthetics. Caliban is subject to all of Prospero's experiments and becomes unrecognizable as human, after having so many parts replaced...
