Pink. Is. It. Can you guess the Aveda formula? More and more youth are experimenting with fun colors (Gen X are now the parents and we just don’t care). If working on a tween or younger, do not apply color on the scalp. Use foils.

Stormstick cleanses carcinogens from your firefighting gear immediately after a firefight.
Stay on breathing apparatus, enter stormsticks precisely angled spray nozzles at shoulder height, slowly turn while cleansing toxins from protective gear. A complete turn should take around 15 seconds. Exit stormstick and come off breathing apparatus. You can now inhale without sucking in the toxic smoke, vapors and particles absorbed by your turnout gear during firefighting.
As always turnouts should be sent in for washing once you return to the station and a thorough shower for each member involved in the firefight.
Protect yourself, crew, patients and family in the battle against Cancer.

(05/18/2015) This month, FOUR YEARS ago, I was diagnosed with cancer - a undifferentiated small round cell sarcoma. I wanted to post more than just these four pictures, but I decided to narrow it down for now. These pictures are from the day I was told I had cancer to the first day I received chemo back in May 2015. I love to look back at my pictures because this is my story. When days got tough, I remember asking my mom to pray for me and I instantly felt better. I remember that I had a smile on my face everyday (even through the hard days) and that is because I was alive and breathing; I knew God was giving me the strength to continue to fight. This difficult journey brought me new and beautiful friendships, opportunities, memories and many more things that I would’ve never imagined. I’m thankful for my life, thankful to be able to continue making memories with my family and friends. Every day is a blessing. I still return to St. Jude very six months for regular check-ups but I know that God is taking care of me and has BIG plans for me. “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength” -Philippians 4:13

Ladies! Pleaseee remember that: 1) mammograms and sonograms often fail to detect cancer; and 2) age discrimination is real in the care and treatment of female cancers! Be your own health advocate, GET BREAST MRI’S, get a team of doctors who will take you seriously when you’re “too young” to have breast cancer, and get yourself the best support team ever. THERE IS NO GREATER DEFENSE THAN A FABULOUS OFFENSE!! #breastcancer #cancerdoesntdiscrimate #neithershoulddoctors #getbreastmris #cancerfree #earlydetectionsaveslives
