The struggle is soooooo real!!! ⠀ What are your secrets to putting your kids to bed ⠀ I feel like I have tried it all but there is rarely a night without tears around bedtime over something. Yes, cannabis helps a TON to be patient and handle the meltdowns with kindness and patience. But I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, to just not have the meltdowns at all. I’ve really tried to stick to a routine and start it earlier, but he still seems to get upset because he can’t decide which pjs to wear or we can’t find the RIGHT pair that he wants, or I pick up his toothbrush and HE wanted to pick it up, or something else super silly. Then when we finally make it in to bed he wants a snack, a drink, another story or I don’t read the book in the right voice, or sing the right made up song about Spider-Man, Batman and Blippi the right way...⠀ Don’t get me wrong I freaking nail bedtime with ease and grace thanks to cannabis calming my anxious (read: get this kid to bed RIGHT NOW) nerves. But man it would be really nice to not have to go through the Olympic trials for patience testing during the random bursts of tears. ⠀ ⠀I feel a bit of relief when @highsocietypapa does bedtime, so this mama gets a little break/me time. I adore my kid but bedtime struggles is probably my least favorite part of parenting.
