La fiesta dura una semana y luego se vuelve a enterrar el diablo (en la boca de la Pachamama) hasta el año que viene!}
.

{Happy Carnival Weekend! I will tell you today how it is celebrated in the stunning Quebrada de Humahuaca, Northwest of Argentina. There, in that beautiful landscape, Carnival celebrations mingle with antique indigenous rituals that celebrate the gifts of Mother Earth, known as Pachamama.
Celebrations begin with the disinterring of the devil, who symbolizes frenzy, joy and fun. During Carnival it is allowed to dance, eat and get very drunk!
This party lasts throughout a week, after which the devil is once again buried (in Pachamama’s mouth) till next year!}
.
We owe Mother Earth a lot! Let’s not forget to thank her during these Carnival days!
